The Saying That One House Member Is Sponsoring Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Was Made To Scare Eastern Leaders

Mijovia Opinion, 3rd Oct, 2021.

The game of the Nigeria government has been to subdue the East, cripple her and make her an abode of slavery inside Nigeria. This is why there are no federal government presence in the entire South East except police check points that made South East look like a region at intense war. My travel to Aba left me with many thoughts of war. On reaching Onitsha - Owerri Road, I saw bags of sands decorating the roads with mean looking soldiers with guns standing with attentive precision ready to shoot. With the way they looked, shooting anyone at any slightest provocation won't be any difficult for them. I thanked God we crossed, but we met more and more of them causing lots of holdups to commuters.

Since after the civil war in 1967-70, South East has been set up for more conquering. It was like some group of people said that South East will never rise again. The leaders that led the baby Biafra for 3 giant years were all dethroned, making way for Efulefus to become majority in the stage of leadership in the East. And since the majority of the leaders are Efulefus, the East has been suffering bad leadership.

Throughout the East, there is no single Embassy, no good federal roads and no military universities or its likes. There is no seaport and when the people suffer to import goods, paying huge amount of money. The East is completely barren except the few rising buildings from the individual strength of the people of the East.

After more than 50 years of marginalization and injustice against the people of the East, the people decided to rise up against their own oppressors. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a Prince from Afaraukwu Ibeku rose from nothing to erect a formidable movement that stands today to question the atrocities happening in Nigeria. In 2015 and 2017 when he was arrested and released, he told Nigeria that if they can be able to end the injustices against his people and give them good roads, sea ports, international airports and revert to regional government, he can drop his agitation. But instead Nigeria government has wished him away. Rather than take him serious, they have called him and his group band of miscreants and jobless youths. As they cajole and mock him, his group keeps growing astronomically, until it became a massive movement.

The Nigeria government has made sure the political leaders in the East remain in a continuous loggerheads with the IPOB movement. The government first made sure more men of questionable characters became political leaders in the East. Men who will watch their youths killed without uttering a word of caution to the federal government. Men that will put their selfish political interests before the interest of their own people.

The silence of the South East political leaders over the abduction of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a sign that they all have been defeated a very long time ago. They are too afraid to stand by their own people.

The sudden mention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian president in his independence speech has shown the type of pressure IPOB is giving to the Nigeria establishment. The president like they always do have resorted to blackmail and arms twisting of the leaders of the South East. The president on his independence speech said that one House Member is sponsoring Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. It is obvious that Nigeria government has no body in their records as sponsors of IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. That's because everyone knows that the ordinary people are the ones sponsoring Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB. They are again playing on the psych of the political leaders from the South East. Their aim is to scare the already scared governors and senators from doing the right thing, even if it is for once. Put them off from going to speak on behalf of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The Nigeria government has been at their best in putting South East leaders against their own people. And the game is already on. Will South East leaders do the right thing? Time will tell.
