Ohanaeze Worried About Sit At Home But Not About Fulani Herdsmen Terrorists Killing Ndị Igbo Mijovia News Update, 4th August, 2021. The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has said that the Sit-at-home declared by IPOB every Monday for the freedom of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is very unwise and will increase hardship for the Igbo people.
“For a group to come up to try to dictate for the Igbo on the days to go to work and days they shouldn’t go to work for Nnamdi Kanu is unwise. The wise thing to do is to make wider consultation with the people and the leadership of the region."
Recently, there has been series of killings by the fulani herdsmen in Igbo land. Farmers have killed right inside their farms by the marauding fulani herdsmen terrorists. Women has been raped and farm lands destroyed. All these things happened with Ohanaeze saying anything in defense of the people.
But suddenly, Ohanaeze have regained their voice simply because IPOB declared a sit at home. They are doing this pretending to be caring for the people. But the people have been suffering under the Eastern governors, withbOhanaeze keeping mute.
Ohanaeze should stop pretending to care for the people. They should stop pretending like they don't know that power has changed hand. The people now know no other leader except Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Even from the DSS custody, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu still leads the people. Ohanaeze must understand that the people is IPOB and IPOB is the people. The people has been in suffering and are ready to give up Monday of every week as to secure Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's unconditional release and a better future in Biafra for their kids.
But one thing that is commendable in Ohanaeze is that the tone of their words has changed. They now pleads and not counter IPOB. The people will sit at home and there is nothing Ohanaeze or their masters will do about it.
